Hero MotoCorp recently took the wraps off the new Destini 125 Xtec. This scooter marks a new direction by Hero when it comes to their scooters. Here is all that is new.
Design
The new Destini 125 Xtec’s design is markedly different from the old Destini. The shape of the apron is sleek and modern. Bits like the copper-chrome inserts on the top variant are elegant. Move to the sides and we can see a neatly-shaped side panel, much like the other scooters in the segment.
Hero has been conscious of not adding many crease lines and edgy designs for the body panels. It is a design that should appeal to both the young and old. The tail section’s design is distinct, especially with the placement of the turn indicators.
On the whole, the design is fresh, appealing and a welcome change from the conservative designs by Hero in the past.
Variants and Colours
The new Destini 125 is available in three variants- VX, ZX and ZX+. There are five colours on offer and are called Groovy Red, Cosmic Blue, Mystique Magenta, Regal Black and Eternal White.
Features
Hero has gone all out with the features of the Destini 125 Xtec. The scooter has an LED headlight with an integrated DRL and an LED tail light. Auto-cancel turn indicators are also present across variants. The top-spec scooter has a fully digital, reverse LCD with Bluetooth connectivity. Once paired with a smartphone using a dedicated app, the rider can view incoming calls and SMS notifications as well as turn-by-turn navigation.
Updated engine
The scooter has a 125cc engine that produces 9bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.4Nm at 5,500rpm. This is the same engine as before, however, Hero has made a few updates. The company claims improved fuel efficiency and the figure stands at 59kmpl. The engine is paired with a CVT.
