Honda has launched its latest middleweight supersport offering, the CBR650R in Europe. The bike was unveiled last year in November and has now been launched overseas with expectations for the same in the Indian market in the next few months.
The 2024 Honda CBR650R has received a new and sharper design than before. It takes inspiration from the litre-class CBR in terms of its youthful design and aerodynamic bodywork. The bike gets a split LED headlight topped by a transparent visor. Honda is offering the CBR650R in two paint schemes – Matt Gunpowder Mettalic and Grand Prix Red.
Powering the 2024 Honda CBR650R is a 649cc inline four-cylinder engine. It belts out 94bhp and 62.3Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. Then, the list of electronics on the new CBR650R includes traction control, ABS, full LED illumination, and a TFT console. Honda has also equipped the CBR650R with smartphone connectivity for added convenience.
It rides on 41mm Showa Separate Fork Function- Big Piston front forks and a 10-step adjustable rear shock. The braking hardware includes dual 310mm discs for the front and a single 240mm disc at the rear. These are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyres.
Honda is likely to bring the updated CBR650 in India in the next few months. In Europe, it costs EUR 8,599 (approximately Rs. 7.69 lakh sans taxes). However, once launched here in India, it is likely to cost slightly more than that.
