KTM recently unveiled the new 1390 Super Duke R for the international markets. The motorcycle is the successor to the 1290 Super Duke and has been given a host of updates to make it even more ballistic than it already was. So, let’s take a look at these changes along with the pictures of the motorcycle.
One of the most significant changes is the bump in displacement from 1,301cc to 1,350cc which has been achieved by increasing the bore size from 108mm and 110mm.
Further performance enhancements include a new camshaft, a redesigned airbox, and new throttle bodies with increased inlet diameter.
KTM has also employed an upgraded suspension setup comprising the latest generation of WP’s semi-active tech. It adjusts damping rates in real time depending on the information from the IMU.
The motorcycle is also equipped with a new five-inch colour TFT screen that has been tweaked to be more intuitive to use. It also offers five different theme options which change depending on the selected riding mode.
KTM says the ergonomics are inclined towards delivering a more engaging and sporty riding experience. The tank is angled outwards and the handlebar has been moved lower to facilitate better control while cornering.
As fast as it goes, KTM claims it comes to a halt with equal swiftness as there is a new Brembo multi-click system master cylinder for the braking setup.
The Austrian bike maker hasn’t left any stone unturned to make it more performance-oriented and equipped it with grippier and lighter Michelin Power GP tyres.
This new Super Duke 1390R will go on sale in Europe very soon, and we can expect it to be priced a bit higher than the outgoing model. However, its India entry is uncertain at present.
