- Internationally updated with two new colours
- Remains unchanged on the mechanical front
- India re-launch unlikely anytime soon
Suzuki has updated its international portfolio with unveil of 2024 models. Amongst the refreshed motorcycles is its litre-class sportbike, the GSX-R1000. While this road-legal track tool has remained unchanged on the mechanical front, Suzuki has bestowed the GSX-R1000 with new paint schemes.
The newest-looking of the two new colours is Glass Matte Mechanical Gray trim that boasts dual-tone black and grey bodywork along with red stripes and alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the Metallic Matte Black and Glass Sparkle Black version looks like a traditional Suzuki with blue and white graphics along with blue alloy wheels. Suzuki has kept the bodywork of the bike unchanged which comprises a small diamond-shaped headlamp, angular side fairing, a sculpted fuel tank, a sharp tail, and a chunky exhaust canister.
As for the mechanical specifications of the 2024 GSX-R1000, it continues to be powered by a 999cc water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine that sits in a diamond frame and produces 194.45bhp at 13,200rpm and 117Nm of torque at 10,800rpm. All this power and torque is taken to its wheels via a six-speed transmission. Accompanying this motor are a bevy of safety aids including dual-channel ABS, ten-level traction control, low rpm assist, Suzuki easy start, ride-by-wire, launch control, a quick shifter and three riding modes. Further, Showa springs and Brembo calipers handle the suspension and braking duties, respectively.
The chances of Suzuki bringing the 2024 GSX-R1000 to India are slim as of now. However, we might soon witness the arrival of its 800cc models like the GSX-8S and V-Strom 800DE.
