- Could be on a component test run
- Appears largely similar to the current 990 Duke on sale
- Might debut early next year
The 990 Duke was spotted recently alongside the KTM 990 RC R and the 990 SMT. The trio was seen on a test run in Europe. Although the 990 Duke has been on sale for a while, we think it could be on a new component test run.
The KTM 990 Duke test bike looks identical to the current model. It is equipped with twin boomerang-shaped LED headlights with a pair of projector units vertically stacked in between. The fuel tank cover with its aerodynamic design, filled with cuts and creases, and the overall aggressive styling also appear intact.
The current KTM 990 Duke uses a 947cc twin-cylinder engine. It makes 121bhp and 103Nm and gets a six-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter. The motor is nestled in a Chromium-Molybdenum-Steel frame and suspended on a fully adjustable spring setup at both ends with WP Apex USD forks and a monoshock.
The test bike seems like a production-ready model as seen in these spy shots. KTM could probably introduce a few tweaks to the bike in 2025.
