Suzuki has raised the curtains of the 2025 DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM in the international markets. For 2025, the motorcycles have been completely revamped with a new engine and underpinnings.
Both motorcycles are powered by a new 398cc, single-cylinder, Euro 5+ compliant motor that makes 38bhp and a peak torque of 37Nm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. While the Suzuki DR-Z4S will compete against the KTM 390 Enduro R, the DR-Z4SM will rival the KTM 390 SMC R in the international markets.
The bikes differ from each other in the wheel sizes, suspension travel, and features department. The engine is nestled inside an all-new twin-spar frame with an aluminium subframe. Both motorcycles are suspended on KYB upside-down front forks that offer rebound and compression adjustability. The rear makes do with an adjustable monoshock.
The Suzuki DR-Z4S rides on 21/18-inch wire-spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres. In true-blue enduro fashion, it gets a suspension travel of 280mm at the front and 296mm at the rear. This has resulted in a towering seat height of 920mm. On the electronics front, it gets ride-by-wire throttle with three engine maps, adjustable traction control, and dual-channel ABS, which can be deactivated at both ends.
Meanwhile, being a supermoto, the Suzuki DR-Z4SM rides on 17-inch wire-spoke wheels wrapped on stickier road-biased tyres. As expected, the supermoto has shorter suspension travel with 260mm at the front and 277mm at the rear. Compared to the S, the SM has a marginally more accessible saddle height of 890mm. It gets the same electronics as the S, but the ABS can only be deactivated at the rear on the DR-Z4SM.
The DR-Z4S and the DR-Z4SM are designed and developed for the international markets where the dual-sport and supermoto genres are popular. The chances of Suzuki launching these bikes in India is next to nil.
