After announcing the partnership between Twenty Two Motors and Kymco in October, the tie-up now recognised by 22Kymco has revealed three new scooters for the Indian two-wheeler market. The first one is an updated version of the iFlow, an electric scooter that has been priced at Rs 90,000. The other two are conventional petrol-powered scooters, Like200 and X-Town 300i, priced at Rs 1.3 lakhs and Rs 2.30 lakhs, respectively.
Now, the iFlow is an updated version of the electric scooter that was showcased by the company during the 2018 Auto Expo. Featuring a conventional scooter design with a modern twist, the iFlow features LED headlamps, LED brake lamp and turn indicators, digital instrument console, cloud connectivity and Geo-fencing to access data and track the scooter through an app. It is powered by a 2.1Kw motor with Kymco’s swappable IONEX battery system. The company claims that the scooter is capable of achieving a top speed of 60kmph and return a range of 160km. The iFlow will be offered with six colour options.
Next is the Like200, a classic retro-styled scooter that is equipped with premium cycle parts. It features a LED lighting system, semi-digital instrument console and multi-spoke alloy wheels. Besides that, it comes equipped with telescopic forks up front and a swingarm-mounted monoshock at the rear. Braking is done by disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS. Powering the scooter is a 163cc single-cylinder motor with fuel injection that is rated to produce 13.3bhp and 11.8Nm.
The third product is a maxi-scooter called X-Town 300i. It carries a typical maxi-scooter styling with a step-up seat, large overall dimensions and a tall windscreen. It features a twin headlamp design with turn indicators that are flush into the front apron. Powering the X-Town 300i is a 276cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder mill that is capable of churning out 24.2bhp and 25Nm and comes coupled to a CVT gearbox. For cycle parts, the scooter features 37mm telescopic forks up front and a twin shock absorber setup for the rear. The scooter gets disc brakes and both ends and is equipped with dual-channel ABS.
While 22Kymco is announced the prices of the products, the scooters will reportedly go on sale in the market only by September 2019. All three scooters will be assembled at the company’s manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, Haryana. And according to the company, the manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity of 2 lakh units. Besides that, 22Kymco is also aiming to set up a dealership network of 300 outlets over the next three years. In phase one of the sales plan, the company will introduce the products initially in six cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
