Benelli has announced that the BX 250 Motard will be launched in India in 2017 along with their new entry-level offering, the TNT 135.
The 2016 Auto Expo witnessed the unveiling of four new Benelli motorcycles. While the company has always been positive about the TRK-502 and the Tornado 302R, the BX 250 Motard has been a grey area. Having conducted feasibility studies for it, DSK Motowheels has now has confirmed that the BX 250 Motard will be launched here in 2017.
The Benelli BX 250 Motard is a high-riding, lightweight motorcycle with dirt bike-like styling cues. Unlike other Benelli motorcycles, this supermoto is based on a double cradle frame. At its heart is a 249cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine delivering 25bhp and 21Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The BX 250 Motard rides on 17-inch wheels with inverted front forks and a rear monoshock.
Tipping the scales at just 135 kilograms, the BX 250 Motard is just six kilograms heavier than its rival, the KTM Duke 200. We can expect it to reach our shores in the first half of 2017 following the launch of the TRK-502 and the Tornado 302R.
