Kinetic will expand its Motoroyale line-up with the introduction of two new motorcycles, the SWM Superdual T and the Superdual X in January 2018.
An official from the company confirmed this news to BikeWale. These new motorcycles will be sold alongside the MV Agusta range of bikes. It will be positioned as a premium brand but will be placed below MV Agusta.
The Superdual T and the Superdual X are built around the same platform and get the same 600cc liquid-cooled single cylinder motor. This engine churns out 53bhp at 7500rpm and peak torque of 53.5Nm at 6500rpm. The Superdual T is an adventure tourer whereas the X variant is a proper off-road motorcycle. The Superdual T gets road-biased tyres that rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. The Superdual X gets dual-purpose tyres with larger wheels of 21-inches at the front and 18-inch at the rear. The adventure model gets shorter gear ratios whereas the touring model gets taller ratios for better highway touring. The seat on the Superdual X is slightly different in that it’s more comfortable off the road. Rest of the features on both motorcycles are almost identical.
Kinetic is looking at pricing both the bikes between Rs 5 lakhs and Rs 6 lakhs (ex-showroom Pune). It will be launched as completely-knocked-down (CKD) models and will be assembled at the company’s MV Agusta facility. These two bikes will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Versys 650 and also the Benelli TNT 600GT.
