Emflux Motors, a Bengaluru-based startup has launched the Model 1 at a price of Rs 6 lakhs, on road. The bike is not only their first product, but also the first electric superbike in India.
The Model 1 gets an aggressive design language with sharp edges all through. It offers a leaned forward riding position thanks to the rear-set foot pegs and low-set handlebars. It gets a full-LED headlamp that runs straight from the visor to the end of the fascia. The Model 1 also gets a single-sided swingarm to boost its appeal.
Powering the Emflux Model 1 is a liquid-cooled AC induction motor that produces 67bhp and 84Nm of torque housed in a tubular steel trellis frame. Emflux claims that the Model 1 is capable of hitting 0-100kmph in less than 3 seconds. The bike has a range of 200km on a full charge which can be done in an hour. By using the company’s patented ‘Warp charger’, which is sold separately, the lithium ion batteries can be charged to 80 per cent in 30 minutes.
The bike also boasts of features like a 7-inch TFT colour touchscreen display, real-time vehicle diagnostics, bike-to-bike connectivity, navigation, OTA updates and Bluetooth connectivity. The Model 1 rides on 43mm upside down forks at the front and an offset monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from dual 300mm discs in the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. Calipers are sourced from Brembo.
Emflux is also offering the Model 1 with a performance upgrade package that will cost Rs 11 lakhs (on-road). It includes an Ohlins suspension setup, forged alloy wheels and carbon fibre panels fitted on the bike. The manufacturer will start deliveries by early next year.
