Ampere Vehicles, a Coimbatore-based electric vehicle company has launched two new products for the Indian market. The Ampere V48 and the Red Li-Ion have been priced at Rs 38,000 and Rs 46,000 respectively.
These scooters comes with lithium-ion battery pack charger which has an additional cost of Rs 3000. Due to its top speed of 25kmph, the Ampere V48 and the Red Li-Ion doesn’t need to be registered in order to be ridden on public roads. Both the e-scooters get 250W brushless DC motors, powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery pack. The scooters have a riding range of up to 70 kilometres and can be charged fully within four to five hours. The Reo Li-Ion can carry maximum load of 120 kg whereas the Ampere 48V can haul up to just 100 kg.
Ampere Vehicles has around 150 dealership across the country, with major focus in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. It develops the products in-house at its R&D facility in Coimbatore, but the battery packs are imported from China and Taiwan.
