- Is the most powerful Triumph motorcycle till date
- Will be limited to 750 units
-Next-gen standard Rocket 3 will be based on this bike
Triumph has revealed details of its special edition factory custom motorcycle, the Rocket 3 TFC. The motorcycle is a part of the company’s ‘Triumph Factory Custom’ line-up which also includes the Thruxton TFC café racer. The production of this power cruiser will be limited to just 750 units and each motorcycle will have its serial number imprinted on a special plate.
The Rocket 3 TFC is not only the most powerful Triumph motorcycle till date but is also known for belting out the highest torque figure ever recorded on a production bike. Its 2500cc, three-cylinder motor makes 180bhp and a hefty 230Nm of torque. What's more, it features carbon-fibre on its components like the front fender, exhaust shields and windscreen which has helped in shaving off 40 kilos over the previous model. Cosmetically, the new Rocket TFC looks dapper with its twin circular headlamps, straight handlebar with bar end mirrors, three exhaust pipes protruding out of the mill, a flying tail section and chunky set of wheels. All these elements lend the motorcycle a distinctive appeal.
On to the electronics; the Rocket 3 TFC doesn’t fall short in this department as well. The LED headlamps boast of a futuristic design while the instrumentation consists of a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and GoPro control system. Other features include cornering ABS, traction control, quickshifter, cruise control, hill-hold assist and four riding modes including rider, road, rain and sport. In terms of cycle parts, the fully-adjustable Showa suspension setup and Brembo Stylema brakes make the motorcycle all the more premium.
In the UK, the Triumph Rocket 3 TFC has been priced at £25,000 which is approximately Rs 22.7 lakhs. While it’s not yet known if this special edition motorcycle will come to India, Triumph will introduce a toned-down production version of the bike which is likely to make its way to our shores by 2020. It is expected to be unveiled at the 2019 EICMA show in November.
