Ducati Streetfighter V4 officially teased for Pikes Peak

- Likely to debut at the upcoming Pikes Peak hill climb event

- Will be powered by the Panigale V4’s 1103cc motor

- Will be piloted by Ducati rider Carlin Dunne

Ever since Ducati introduced the all-new V4 motor, it was obvious that the motor will be used in other future products by the Italian bike maker. Now, the company has released a teaser video of a bike that will be seen competing at the upcoming Pikes Peak hill climb race in Colorado.

The teased motorcycle matches the tail section of a Panigale as also the recently spied test mule of the Streetfighter V4 at a racetrack. Built for competition, the naked Panigale-based race bike will be seen sporting white and black livery bearing the competition number 5, which belongs to Ducati rider Carlin Dunne. He will be seen riding the naked V4-powered bike at the Pikes Peak event. In addition to that, the teaser video also had the distinctive sound of Ducati’s new V4 motor yet again confirming the bike to be the Streetfighter V4.

Now, before Ducati takes the wraps off the new Streetfighter V4, we do know some of the details of the motorcycle. Firstly, it will be powered by the same 1103cc V4 motor that does duty in the Panigale V4. While the faired version makes 208bhp and 124Nm, expect Ducati to offer the Streetfighter V4 with a stronger mid-band on the rev range to better suit its character. The bike is likely to get all the electronic gadgetry from the Panigale V4 along with new additions.

We expect Ducati to unveil Streetfighter V4 based competition motorcycle on 13 June, which is also the day for the tyre test for the Pikes Peak hill climb event. The production model will likely be unveiled at the 2019 EICMA motor show in Milan.
