- Honda CB190TR unveiled in China
- Sports modern-retro scrambler styling
- Powered by a 184cc engine
Honda has taken the wraps off its new creation – the CBF190TR – modern-retro scrambler motorcycle specifically developed for the Chinese market.
This motorcycle does taken some genre inspiration from the other Honda bikes like the CB300R and the bigger CB650R. Developed by Honda’s Chinese brand – Sundiro Honda, the CBF190TR has been developed to cater to the younger audience who are looking for a combination of accessible and different looking motorcycle.
The overall styling is neatly done. The large front fork tubes, LED headlight and the presence of dual-purpose tyres does make the bike look premium. There’s a bash plate present as well, which showcases the bike’s ability to tackle some hardcore off-road conditions.
The CBF190TR gets its power from an 184cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that makes around 16bhp of power. It is equipped with things like fuel-injection and ABS, making it quite viable for markets like Europe and a few South East Asian market.
Will this bike come to India? We don’t think so! While we would love to have such fancy looking motorcycle in India, Honda seems to be playing a bit safe in the entry-level premium commuter segment. Its CB Hornet 160R seems to be doing well. And in the past, the Japanese brand hasn’t talked about upping its ambition to 200cc motorcycles.
