- Gets aftermarket windscreen and exhaust
- Features Ninja ZX-10R sourced rear mono-shock
- Power output yet to be announced
Kawasaki has revealed a race-spec variant of its new, quarter-litre motorcycle, the Ninja ZX-25R. The race-spec Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R drops the street-legal hardware such as headlight assembly, taillight, indicators, rear number-plate holder and rear-view mirrors while the green shade has been replaced by a glossy black paint.
A carbon-fibre treatment is visible across the bodywork of the motorcycle. The green, honeycomb graphics add an appealing contrast to the visuals of the motorcycle. Additional bits such as a new windscreen, race-spec seat, rear-cowl and an aftermarket exhaust further enhance the sporty character of the motorcycle. The NASSERT-R Evolution Type II exhaust features a conventional mounting position instead of the underbelly unit on the standard motorcycle.
The hardware, too, gets a slight revision. While the front forks are retained from the standard motorcycle, the rear mono-shock comes from the litre-class Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. Moreover, the race-spec Ninja ZX-25R also gets rear-set footpegs and adjustable clutch and brake levers.
The power output numbers for the race-spec motorcycle are yet to be announced. Regular followers would know that Kawasaki has remained tight-lipped about the performance numbers of the standard model. We were hoping to hear more details on April 4 when the Ninja ZX-25R was scheduled to reach the showrooms in Indonesia, although the event has been postponed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
