Yamaha offers its 155cc maxi-scooter, the NMAX 155 in markets like Indonesia and Thailand. The Thailand-spec model misses out on the traction control system and Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, features that are available on the Indonesia-spec model. The new Yamaha NMAX 155 was launched in the Thailand market at TBH 85,900 (approximately Rs 2 lakh). Here we bring you detailed images of Yamaha’s maxi-scooter.
The new Yamaha NMAX 155 features apron-mounted, twin-pod LED headlight with LED DRLs and a tinted visor at the front. The new headlight design is sleeker than the unit on the old model. The front blinkers, too, are smaller than the units on the old NMAX 155.
The design of the apron has been tweaked and the latest iteration of the maxi-scooter features a relatively subtle finish.
The tail section gets twin-pod LED stoplight instead of the single-pod unit on its predecessor. The rear blinkers, on the other hand, get an orange cover instead of the clear units on the old NMAX 155.
The instrument cluster gets a new design along with a Bluetooth-connectivity function (available on Indonesia-spec model) that works with the Yamaha Y-Connect app to control incoming call, messages and GPS navigation.
The 155cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology now benefits from a Stop and Start system. The motor on the latest iteration of the maxi-scooter produces 14.9bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 14.4Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm.
The hardware specifications continue to include telescopic forks at the front and a unit swing rear suspension at the back. The anchoring duties are performed by disc brakes on both wheels. The safety net on the NMAX 155 includes dual-channel ABS and traction control (available on Indonesia-spec model).
