The new Haojue DR300 has been fully revealed ahead of its launch in China. The motorcycle will be rebranded and sold as the Suzuki GSX-S300 in select markets.
The launch details for the Chinese market are not available yet, but we can hear an announcement soon. Haojue Motorcycles, Suzuki’s Chinese partner, will produce and sell the DR300 there. The Indian launch details are scarce although we may not see the motorcycle on our shores anytime soon.
The motorcycle, which made its debut at the Chongqing Mobo Fair 2018, features premium hardware that is complemented by the GSX-S1000 inspired styling. The feature list on the DR300 comprises of full-LED lighting, an LCD instrument cluster, split-style seats, KYB-sourced suspension setup and petal-type disc brakes. The shock absorption duties are handled by inverted forks at the front and a seven-step adjustable mono-shock at the back.
The motorcycle is powered by a 298cc, parallel-twin motor that churns out 28.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 27.8Nm at 6,500rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed transmission.
Back in India, Suzuki has updated its quarter-litre, single-cylinder powered Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250, to comply with the latest emission norms. The naked roadster is priced at Rs 1,63,400 while the fully-faired model is available for Rs 1,74,000 – both ex-showroom Delhi.
