Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer Royal Enfield has issued a recall of 7000 bikes in India over an issue of a faulty brake caliper bolt. The models affected by the recall include 350cc and 500cc variants of the Bullet and Electra that have been manufactured between 20 March and 30 April.
The recall was issued after a service investigation revealed a concerning brake caliper bolt failed to meet the required torque quality standards. The company is calling the recall a proactive field service action under which corrective actions will be carried out on the affected vehicles. Customers are expected to check whether their motorcycle is affected by the recall and subsequently get in touch with the service centre and have the issue resolved.
