Dainese – one of the finest motorcycle riding gear companies have been sold to one of the largest private equity companies for a whopping $687 million.
With this acquisition, brands like AGV and TCX which were under Dainese, will also become a part of Carlyle, the new owners. The new company plans to take the overall business to $100bn in seven years’ time.
Currently, India receives some of the motorcycle goods from these brands. While their entire line-up of gear didn’t come to India via their dealers, the country still managed to accept these brands due to the quality and the superiority of the products. However, most of their products were pricey which made it out of reach of majority of the motorcycle riders.
