- 899cc engine makes 103.5bhp and 100Nm
- Gets three ride modes as standard
- Explorer riding mode and connectivity module available as optional extra
The all-new Husqvarna Norden 901, which debuted at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show in concept form, has reached dealerships in select international markets. This new adventure-tourer is based on the KTM 890 Adventure although it gets a completely different design than the Austrian motorcycle.
The new Norden 901 is powered by an 899cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 103.5bhp of maximum power and 100Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle is built around a steel trellis frame, and it uses the WP APEX suspension setup with long travel. The off-road focussed Norden 901 rides on a 21-inch front and 18’-inch rear wheels roll. These tubeless spoked wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. The 19-litre fuel tank is claimed to deliver a range of 400km.
The electronic rider aids on the Norden 901 comprise a switchable Bosch Cornering ABS (Street and Offroad modes), lean-angle sensitive Cornering Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), and three ride modes (Street, Rain, and Offroad). The company will also offer a fourth ride mode, the Explorer at an additional cost. The six-speed gearbox benefits from a quickshifter and a Power Assist Slipper Clutch (PASC). Also available as an option is a connectivity module that provides access to turn-by-turn navigation, phone calls, and music.
The motorcycle is unlikely to reach the Indian market in the foreseeable future.
