- Ampere hikes EV prices
- Rs 39,000 increase for Primus
- Fame 2 subsidies reduced by govt
Ampere Electric has decided to increase the price of its entire electric scooter range. The highest price hike stands at Rs 39,000 for Primus.
These prices have been increased due to a reduction in FAME 2 subsidies. A few days ago, the govt decided to decrease the subsidies which was previously kept at 40 per cent of the ex-showroom cost to just 15 per cent. As a result of this, a lot of EV companies decided to increase the cost and pass it on to the customers. However, a few EV companies haven't increased the price yet.
For Ampere, the Zeal EX price has gone up by Rs 20,900 and for the Magnus EX, the price has been increased by Rs 21,000. These price hikes are likely to slow down the overall sales of electric scooters in the short term. But the adoption of green vehicles will continue to increase for the next few years.
