Following the reduction in GST rate on EVs from 12 per cent to 5 per cent, Ampere Electric Vehicles has revised the pricing of its electric scooters. The product portfolio has witnessed a price drop ranging from Rs 3500 to Rs 5000 depending on the model.
The Zeal, Ampere’s flagship electric scooter which also benefits from FAME II incentives has witnessed a price drop of Rs 5000. The scooter now retails at Rs 67,000 approx compared to its earlier price tag of Rs 72,000 approx (both ex-showroom, Bangalore). On the other hand, models like the Magnus, REO LA and both variants of the V-48 have witnessed a price drop of Rs 3000, individually. The REO LI is now cheaper by Rs 3500.
Besides the price revision, Greaves Cotton, one of the most diversified engineering companies in India, had recently increased its stake in the Coimbatore-based startup from 67.34 per cent to 81.23 per cent.
