Electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ampere has discontinued its lead-acid battery powered scooter, the Magnus 60. The brand now offers the lithium-ion battery version of the scooter, the Magnus Pro, in the Indian market.
The Magnus 60 was priced at Rs 44,699 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). The electric scooter was powered by a 60V/20Ah lead acid battery that was claimed to return a range of 45-50km per charge. A full charge took about 8-10 hours. The top speed of the Magnus 60 was rated at 25kmph.
In comparison, the new Magnus Pro, which is available for Rs 73,990 (ex-showroom Bengaluru), uses a 60V/30Ah lithium-ion battery pack that is claimed to return a range of up to 70-80km per full charge. The battery pack takes five to six hours to fully recharge. The Magnus Pro can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 10 seconds while the top speed is rated at 55kmph.
With the removal of Magnus 60, Ampere’s product portfolio now comprises of five vehicles – Magnus Pro, Reo, Reo Elite, Zeal and the V48.
