-Nexus is likely the name for the Ampere NXG
-Ampere NXU B2B electric scooter may be badged Aspirus
-Ampere is expected to launch the scooters soon
Ampere is gearing up for the launch of its brand-new electric scooter that for now is codenamed NXG. The scooter has been spotted testing in recent times and we’ve now got access to trademark files that suggests that Ampere may call it the Nexus.
The Nexus, if it is badged so, is expected to be Ampere’s flagship scooter and is likely to be positioned above the Primus. A look at the recent test scooters revealed a few details. The styling appears to be neat and proportionate, catering to the palettes of those looking for a family scooter. There seems to be ample space for two adults, looking at the length and breadth of the seat. The footboard also looks broad and enough to accommodate big feet.
Other details that are visible include LED lights, a large digital display and we could see it feature Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.
As for the chassis, expect to see an underbone frame, with a telescopic fork at one end and twin shock absorbers at the other. The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels and in a first for Ampere, there’s a disc brake at the front.
Ampere is also testing another scooter, codenamed the NXU and that is likely to be called the Aspirus in its production avatar. This scooter is being readied for the B2B market where it will find applications for delivery purposes.
Ampere is expected to launch these electric scooters soon. The Ampere NXG is expected to be launched at a price point above Rs 1.46 lakh, ex-showroom, which is where the Ampere Primus is priced at.
