- Ampere Vehicles to add a new e-scooter to its line-up on 15 June
- Likely to be a higher-spec version of the existing Magnus model
Ampere Vehicles, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer backed by Greaves Cotton, is all set to add a new electric scooter to its line-up on 15 June in India. In order to avoid social gathering, the virtual launch will be live streamed through an online platform.
In essence, the upcoming scooter will be the Pro variant of the existing Magnus model, as affirmed by the launch invite. Ampere has rolled out its teaser images which suggest it will be a more comfortable and safer version of the Magnus with higher performance and longer range.
Expect the styling to be on the same lines as that of the standard Magnus, however, with some cosmetic add-ons to give it premium touches. It could also boast of a roomier floorboard and seat for making it more comfortable. The feature list will most likely comprise of modern bits such as LED headlamp and tail lamp, fully-digital instrument cluster, USB charging port, geo fencing, keyless entry and more.
Considering this will be a premium offering, it will be powered by a lithium-ion battery which will perhaps be removable while the drivetrain might comprise of a brushless DC motor. Expect the battery range and top speed to be similar to that of Ampere’s top-spec model, the Zeal. It delivers a range of 75km while the speed maxes out at 55kmph.
