Apollo Tyres has entered into the premium two-wheeler tyre segment with a range of high-end bias and steel radial tyres in its portfolio. These tyres will be manufactured at Apollo’s new facility in Vadodara, Gujarat. Spanned across 10,000 square meter area, the facility has a capacity to produce 30,000 radial and 60,000 cross ply motorcycle tyres per month. It is located within the brand’s existing Limda plant vicinity in Vadodara and its modular layout will easily allow expansion if needed in the future.

The company sees a considerable scope to grow in the premium tyre segment which constitutes 20 per cent of the domestic market. The brand says this segment is witnessing a consistent growth due to multiple factors such as fast urbanisation, increasing customer income and rising young population. Even the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is expected to further boost the demand as people will choose personal vehicles over shared mobility options for commute.
