Piaggio Vehicles has marked the completion of 25 years in the Indian market and to commemorate the occasion, the company has announced various updates regarding its portfolio. Among the announcements was the confirmation of OBD-2 compliance of the Vespa and Aprilia scooters in the Indian market.
Speaking about complying with the upcoming emission norms, Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director, Piaggio Vehicles, said that all of the company’s two-wheelers now come equipped with the i-get engine which is claimed to deliver a significant advantage in acceleration across 125 and 160cc products and that these motors are fully OBD-2 compliant.
Further, the company also confirmed model updates for Vespa and Aprilia scooters. The Aprilia SR range of scooters will be restructured with the launch of Aprilia Typhoon in the Indian market while the SXR series will be updated too. Then, the company will also introduce the new Vespa edition and Vespa Touring edition in the Indian market while updating the existing range of scooters.
Piaggio India also made fresh comments about its Aprilia branded motorcycles for India, including the upcoming rival for the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.
