Aprilia RS660 finally unveiled at the 2019 EICMA

- Sports an aggressive styling

- Comes loaded with electronics and uses a 660cc, parallel-twin engine

- Could be launched in India sometime in 2020

After showcasing the RS660 concept back in 2018, Aprilia has finally showcased the production-version of the motorcycle at the ongoing 2019 EICMA.

The Aprilia RS660 features a sharp full fairing that features aero winglets and integrates aggressive-looking LED headlamps which also include cornering lights. The fuel tank gets sharp lines and creases while the svelte rear section completes the look of RS660. However, Aprilia is positioning the RS660 as a street bike rather than a race bike. Hence, the motorcycle offers a slightly upright riding position, thanks to the slightly raised clip-on handlebars.

Underneath the fairing, the RS660 houses a 660cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 100bhp. The manufacturer has equipped the motorcycle with an extensive electronic package which includes wheelie control, cornering ABS, cruise control, five ride modes and a two-way quick shifter. Moreover, it also sports a Bluetooth-enabled 5-inch TFT screen with two display options.

Suspension duties on the RS660 are handled by Kayaba inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile braking hardware is sourced from Brembo with twin 320mm discs up front. Aprilia is offering the RS660 in two colours- matte black with red and a purple with red paint inspired by the RS250 Reggiani Replica motorcycle.

The Aprilia RS 660 is expected to arrive in India sometime next year and take the fight directly to the Honda CBR650R and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
