Aprilia took the wraps off its newest addition to the line-up, the RSV4 RF Limited Edition, last week, at the Circuit of the Americas. Commanding a price tag of USD 24,499 (Rs 16.3 lakhs), the RSV4 RF LE is available only in the North American market for now. Here is a photo gallery of the 2018 Aprilia RSV4 RF Limited Edition –
The RSV4 RF LE features a special livery inspired by the 1987 250GP racebike, which gave Aprilia its first race win in a world championship.
As the name suggests, this motorcycle is based on the company’s flagship superbike – the RSV4 RF and features the entire lot of bells and whistles.
The right to command the USD 1,000 (Rs 66,545) premium over the regular RSV4 RF comes courtesy of the carbon fibre winglets, inspired by the MotoGP racebike – the RS-GP.
They might look similar to the one in the RS-GP and the track-only Factory Works superbike, but the RSV4 RF LE winglets aren’t functional.
Nevertheless, the RSV4 RF LE is indeed the first road-legal production bike to feature winglets. Exclusivity is further bumped up thanks to the limited run of just 125 units.
At the heart of the RSV4 RF LE is a 999cc V4 engine, churning out 198bhp and 115Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter.
Rider aids include a traction control, launch control, wheelie control and ABS. The fully-adjustable suspension has been sourced from Ohlins, while Brembo has taken care of braking.
