-Tuareg 457 spotted in a rally
-Likely to get 21-17-inch spoke wheels
-Official unveil could take place at EICMA 2024
Ever since Aprilia launched the RS 457, we have been waiting to hear an announcement about other products based on the same platform. While KTM’s upcoming 390 Adventure line-up has been the talk of the town lately, we have stumbled upon pictures of what looks like the Tuareg 457.
The motorcycle was spotted being ridden in a desert with the tower navigation setup and the rider’s attire clearly indicating it was a part of a rally. The left side engine case of the bike is clearly visible in the photos and it looks very similar to the RS 457. Moreover, the size of the radiator and the presence of a single disc brake up front further backs the possibility of it being the small-size, twin-cylinder adventure bike by the Italian manufacturer.
The production model of the Tuareg 457 will certainly look different from the rally iteration. The rally tower will make way for a smaller TFT with the headlamp assembly being less dramatic. Even the rear seat and panel might make way for a more practical setup with a provision for pillion footrests. Meanwhile, the long-travel suspension and what looks like a 21-17-inch spoke wheel combination make it look promising and adventure-ready. Even the chassis and sub-frame look specifically designed for the Tuareg. While the engine will be the same 47bhp, 457cc, twin-cylinder unit as on the RS, Aprilia might change the tuning to suit the Tuareg’s character and purpose.
With the bike looking production-ready and the EICMA show being just around the corner, we expect the official unveil of the Tuareg 457 to take place in Milan in a few days. Moreover, with the Indian entry-level adventure bike market flourishing, Aprilia will bring this to our shores in all probabilities.
