- Ather launches Eight70 battery warranty scheme
- It is available at Rs. 4,999 for Pro Pack owners
A major chunk of potential electric two-wheeler buyers are concerned about the life of the EV’s battery. It’s justified considering almost 70 per cent of the vehicle’s cost is that of the battery which means, if the need be, replacing the battery is an expensive affair. To address this concern, Ather Energy has announced its new extended battery warranty package called Eight70.
Created in collaboration with Reliance General Insurance, Eight70 is meant to take care of concerns regarding long-term battery health, performance, and replacement costs. It is available at Rs. 4,999 only for Ather owners who have already bought the Pro Pack while purchasing the 450 series and the Rizta. It is essentially a three-year add-on over and above the five-year battery warranty which comes with Pro Pack.
The main benefits of the Eight70 warranty include coverage of up to eight years or 80,000km, whichever comes first. Moreover, it includes 70 per cent battery health assurance, full coverage against manufacturing defects and failures, and no upper limit on claim amounts. Plus, with the Eight70 pack, there will be no claim rejection due to deep discharge of battery cells when the scooter is left uncharged or in an idle state over an extended period.
