Ather Energy has launched its next generation of public fast charging infrastructure. Christened as the Ather Grid 2.0, this new fast-charging infrastructure builds on the current generation of Ather Grid with enhanced features to support scale and faster charging capabilities in the future. The installation of the new Ather Grid 2.0 has begun in Bangalore and Chennai. The company said in its press statement that the new charging infrastructure will soon be available across various cities in India.
The Bangalore-based manufacturer said that the Ather Grid 2.0 will support future fast charging capacity. It further added that the Ather Grid 2.0 will support Over-the-Air updates, allowing Ather Energy to push new features and bug fixes to all systems.
Apart from the features mentioned above, the new charging infrastructure will also have improved durability. This is aimed to make the charging infrastructure more suitable for installations exposed to extreme environmental conditions. The current Ather Grid Network is spread across 21+ cities and 215+ locations. Ather Energy aims to add 500 Ather Grid locations by the end of FY22, with all new installations being Ather Grid 2.0.
Speaking about the new Ather Grid 2.0, Nilay Chandra, VP - Charging Infrastructure and Marketing, Ather Energy, said that the company will be able to fast track its aim of setting up 500 fast-charging infrastructure by the end of this year.
