- It was launched at Rs. 13,000 in April, 2024
- Priced at Rs. 10,000 now
- Gets smart connectivity features
Ather Energy launched its smart helmet called Halo in April this year with a price tag of Rs. 13,000. This was supposed to be an introductory price for the first 1,000 customers followed by a hike of Rs. 2,000. However, the company is now offering a discount of Rs. 3,000 and the Halo helmet is priced at Rs. 10,000.
As advanced as the helmet is in terms of features, the response from the buyers may have been equally underwhelming which could be the reason for the price cut. In terms of safety rating, it is ISI and DOT-certified. At a price much lower than the Halo, riders can buy ECE 22.06-certified helmets that are meant to be better in terms of protection – the main purpose of a helmet.
Having said that, the connectivity features that the Halo brings to the table are truly admirable. It gets two speakers from Harman Kardon hiding behind the internal liners which are engineered to deliver a music listening experience that doesn’t silence out the ambient sounds like that of an ambulance or other motorists honking. Once connected to a smartphone, it also allows the rider to receive calls.
The Halo connects with Ather scooters via Bluetooth and allows the rider to control music and take calls on the switchgear. Interestingly, with the help of multiple sensors inside the helmet, it automatically connects to the user’s smartphone after they put it on. The charging mechanism includes a wireless module and the battery backup is said to be a week-long. The helmet can also be charged inside the new Rizta’s boot using the same wireless charger.
