- Ultraviolette enters the high-speed e-racing segment
- Unveils F99 e-motorcycle racing platform
- Can attain a top speed of over 200kmph
Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler company, Ultraviolette Automotive, has announced its entry into the world of high-speed electric two-wheeler racing. Backing this announcement, the brand also revealed the F99 factory racing platform at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi.
Ultraviolette states that the F99 takes inspiration from racing and aviation and has been engineered to produce track-worthy power output while ensuring that all the safety standards are met. Talking about the numbers, the propulsion motor of the F99 is rated to produce 65bhp and is claimed to attain a top speed of over 200kmph. What’s more, it also offers customisable ergonomics to allow the rider to tweak the position of the handlebar and footpegs as per their preference.
Most of the cycle parts of the F99 seem to be retained from its street-legal sibling, the F77 which was recently launched in India. It rides on 17-alloy wheels that are shod with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres while the suspension setup comprises USDs and a monoshock. Bringing it to a halt are large-sized discs that are bitten by ByBre callipers. Ultraviolette has also kept the overall bodywork nearly the same as the F77, except for some aerodynamic bits to make it faster on the track.
Ultraviolette had officially announced that it will start its own road racing series in the coming years. Now, it remains to be seen when that happens and when we get to ride the F99 on the track.
