- Plans to expand presence to 11 states

With an aim to expand its presence in the country, Avan Motors India has announced its next phase of plans in the EV market. The e-scooter manufacturer will be ramping up its presence in 11 states with a focus on tier-II and tier-III cities. The new states where the company plans to introduce a sales network include Rajasthan, Punjab, West Bengal, Manipur, Assam, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Odisha. The company currently has 30 dealers spread across the nation and plans to increase this number to 100+ outlets by 2019.
Avan Motors current product portfolio comprises of the Xero and Xero+. Both e-scooter features a 48V 24Ah lithium-ion battery. While the Xero comes equipped with a BDLC 250w motor, the Xero+ receives a more powerful 800w motor. As per the company, these scooters have been especially designed keeping in mind Indian road conditions with a running cost which is only 10 per cent of a vehicle running on conventional fuel. The company had also recently revealed a new e-scooter called the Trend E which is expected to be launched by next month.
