- Two concept models revealed at the Pune Motor Show 2019
- Avan Motors will start production depending on the response and market research
- Both models feature different styling and specifications
Avan Motors, a Pune-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has unveiled two new electric scooter concepts at the Pune Motor Show 2019. Depending on the response received by the audience and further market research, the company will decide whether to put these concept models into production.
While the manufacturer hasn’t named these models, it has revealed the battery, motor and hardware specifications of both the concepts. Starting with the higher-spec model (on the left in above picture), it rides on a 1.2kW motor which is powered by a 72V 22Ah lithium-ion battery. This model is claimed to deliver a range of 80-200 km, which will vary depending on the selected riding mode. Equipped with 90/90-10 tyres, the top speed for this scooter is limited to 60kmph.
Now, the lower-spec model (on the right) packs a 60V 35Ah lithium-ion battery which powers a 0.8kW motor. The range can return a range of 50km to 80 km while the achievable top speed is 45kmph. As compared to the aforementioned variant, it rides on larger 12-inch wheels shod with 90/80 section tyres. Both the models are equipped with disc-drum arrangement for braking.
Going by the pictures of the concept models, these electric scooters sport LED headlamps which are expected to be retained on the production model as well. Furthermore, as is the norm these days, a fully-digital instrument cluster could also be featured, similar to the existing models by Avan.
Avan Motors currently has three electric scooters in its portfolio including Xero, Xero+ and the top-end TrendE. The manufacturer has a production facility in Pune while its dealership network comprises of over 50 retail outlets across India. By the end of 2019, the company plans to expand its reach to up to 100 dealerships.
