- Domestic sales grew by 54 per cent
- Exports increased by 145 per cent
- Year-to-date numbers grew by 307 per cent
Bajaj Auto has released the sales data for May 2021. The overall two-wheeler sales witnessed a 113 per cent jump in year-on-year numbers, recording 2,40,554-unit sales in May 2021 as against 1,12,798 units in the corresponding month last year.
The domestic two-wheeler sales, which grew by 54 per cent, stood at 60,342 units in May 2021 as against 39,286 units in May 2020. Exports, too, saw a positive growth of 145 per cent, climbing from 73,512 units in May 2020 to 1,80,212 units in May this year. The overall sales (two-wheelers and commercial vehicles combined) stood at 2,71,863 units in May 2021 as against 1,27,128 units in the corresponding month last year.
The year-to-date data, too, saw a major jump in numbers. The overall two-wheeler sales during April-May 2021 stood at 5,88,727 units as against 1,44,,807 units in April-May 2020, thus recording a growth of 307 per cent.
The company recently updated its product portfolio with the launch of the Pulsar NS125 and the Pulsar Dagger Edge series. Bajaj Auto is also working on a higher displacement model that is expected to join the Pulsar range, although its launch details are not available yet.
