- Domestic sales declined by eight per cent
- Exports fell by four per cent
- Launched Pulsar N160 during the quarter
Bajaj Auto recently announced its sales data for the first quarter (April-June 2022) of FY2022-23. The company reported a six per cent decline in the overall sales against the corresponding period last year. The overall sales (domestic and exports) stood at 8,47,158 units during Q1 FY23 as against 8,99,305 units in Q1 FY22.
The domestic sales during this period declined from 3,42,552 units during Q1 FY22 to 3,14,418 units in the recently concluded quarter. The exports, too, declined during the period and the company sold 5,32,740 units in Q1 FY23 in the international markets as against 5,56,753 units in Q1 FY22.
The Pune-based manufacturer said in its announcement that the sales in the quarter were significantly constrained by the inadequate availability of semi conductors. However, the situation improved in the latter part of the quarter as new supply sources were developed.
During the quarter, the company updated its portfolio with the launch of the Pulsar N160 roadster. Bajaj Auto further added that it made steady progress on expanding the presence of the Chetak electric scooter, and it is now available in 27 cities across India.
