- Bajaj sales grow by 12 per cent
- Records 7 per cent increase in India
- Planning to set up a new production plant for Chetak
Bajaj Auto sold a total of 3.84 lakh two-wheelers in November 2020 recording a growth of 12 per cent over November 2019 wherein it sold 3.43 lakh units.
Breaking down that number, Bajaj sales in the Indian market grew by 7 per cent with a sale of 1.88 lakh motorcycles and also including its electric scooter- the Chetak. In comparison, the company had sold 1.76 units in the same month in 2019. Apart from India, Bajaj also has a strong presence in the international market, something evident in its export numbers. The Pune-based manufacturer registered a growth of 18 per cent with a sale of 1.96 lakh two-wheelers overseas in November 2020 as against the 1.67 lakh units it exported in November 2019.
However, it has been a while Bajaj has launched a new motorcycle. The latest news was the colour updates for the Pulsar NS200 and the RS200. Nonetheless, Bajaj is planning to set up a new production facility outside of Maharashtra specifically for the Chetak. Although it goes without saying that the plant will also be used to manufacture the Husqvarna and KTM electric scooters.
