Bajaj records 16 per cent drop in sales for January 2022

- Bajaj sells 3.24 lakh two-wheelers last month

- Exports decrease by 17 per cent

Bajaj Auto has registered its sales numbers for January 2022 wherein it has reported a 16 per cent decline in total sales.

The manufacturer sold 3.24 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic and international market last month; a drop from 3.84 lakh units sold in January 2021. Breaking down this number, Bajaj witnessed a sale of 1.35 lakh motorcycles and Chetak scooters in Jan ‘22 as compared to 1.57 lakh units it sold in the same month last year. Meanwhile, the export market where Bajaj has a stronghold also saw a 17 per cent decline from 2.27 lakh units sold in January 2021 to 1.87 lakh last month.

Bajaj has been reporting low sales for the past six months, even with the introduction of the highly-anticipated Pulsar 250 series. In other news, Bajaj is looking to launch the Chetak EV in Mumbai soon and is also simultaneously testing another electric scooter, spy shots reveal.
