- Caliber re-trademarked
- Bajaj could relaunch this brand
Bajaj has decided to re-trademark its famous motorcycle brand, Caliber in India. There’s a possibility that the company is planning to re-introduce this brand in India.
The Pune-based manufacturer had first launched this brand in the 110cc version – the Caliber 110. It was a fairly successful bike in the 90s. This bike was launched in collaboration with Kawasaki and had one of the best marketing taglines ‘Hoodibaba’ then.
According to the trademark filing website, the Caliber brand was first registered in 1998 and the validity of this trademark is for 10 years. Interestingly, the company didn’t re-register that name then. But registering the brand in 2021 makes us believe that the company is definitely looking to relaunch this bike in India, possibly in a modern avatar.
We are hoping to hear something on the brand in a few months or maybe in a year. Either Bajaj is looking to launch a new motorcycle with the Caliber name or just relaunch an already on-sale motorcycle but Caliber brand.
