Having announced its plans to launch the V12 priced at Rs 56,000 (ex-showroom), Bajaj has commenced deliveries of the 125cc commuter bike to select dealerships.
The Bajaj V12 looks identical to its bigger sibling - the V15. It gets the same bulky body proportions, sculpted fuel tank, quirky chrome-rimmed headlamp, beefy exhaust and a fat rear tyre which set it apart from the crowd. It also gets the removable plastic cowl for the rear seat. What it does miss out on, is a front disc brake. Details about the powertrain have not yet been revealed, though we expect the 125cc mill to be a downsized version of the V15’s DTS-i engine.
Reports suggest that Bajaj V12 will initially be offered in a single paint scheme – red/silver, though we can expect more variations to be introduced over time. Positioned between the Pulsar 135LS and the Discover 125, the V12 will compete with the Hero Glamour, Honda CB Shine, TVS Phoenix and the Yamaha Saluto.
