- Bajaj and KTM are working on an electric bike project
- Details will be revealed in a few months
- Likely to be made in India
Bajaj and KTM are jointly working on electric motorcycles. This development was confirmed by Rakesh Sharma, executive director, Bajaj.
The top honcho discussed this significant development during the company’s quarterly earnings call. He used the words ‘high-end’ electric motorcycles, which makes us believe that the action could see a bike that could churn out performance that matches the 390 range.
The Pune-based manufacturer will reveal the details of this development at the right time. But we believe this bike is in the early stages of development. The majority of global motorcycle companies are taking things a bit slow when it comes to electric motorcycles. But they will eventually have a solid electric bike for the world market in the coming years.
We expect a new electric scooter from Bajaj’s new Chetak plant, and this e-scooter will be a Husqvarna. A few months ago, the test mule of the Husqvarna Vektorr was spotted on Indian roads. This product is expected to be made in India for the rest of the world.
