- Bajaj-Triumph bike to launch in 2023
- Likely to make its global debut at the 2022 EICMA
- Street and Scrambler bikes were spotted testing
Bajaj and Triumph are all set to introduce their first motorcycle from their alliance. This motorcycle is likely to debut in 2023 but could make its first global presence at the 2022 EICMA show, in Italy.
This new motorcycle platform has been under development for a few years now. As per this alliance, Triumph will design and develop this new platform with some help from Bajaj and the Indian company will manufacture the bikes at their new plant in Chakan, India. This new motorcycle platform is likely to be a modular one as we could see 200cc/250cc as well as 400cc versions.
Some prototypes of the bike were spotted a few months ago. Interestingly, there was one street bike spotted alongside a scrambler. So it is clear that there will be at least two motorcycles that would make their global debut. But as of now, there are no details about the displacement of the bikes.
We believe Bajaj and Triumph are working on two displacements 200cc/250cc and a 400cc. Both these bikes will be made in India but the smaller models are likely to be sold in India whereas the 400cc bikes will be made for the world markets. The 400cc Triumphs will eventually come to India, but only if the numbers are justified. Bajaj did this with the Husqvarna range. Instead of launching the 401s, they launched the 250cc versions as there were barely any motorcycles in that range.
We feel that the British brand will use 2022 EICMA as a platform to unveil their new smaller motorcycles as it is bound to get global attention.
