DSK Group started the Diwali fireworks a little early by announcing its new partnership with the Italian marque, Benelli Motorcycles, to assemble and sell motorcycles, in India, by end of this year. The entire range of motorcycles between 300cc to 1130cc will be launched in the next two months.
Benelli, like MV August and Ducati, is an Italian motorcycle brand, known for building some exotic motorcycles. Established in 1911, Benelli is one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the world selling two wheelers for over a century. Their plans to commence CKD operations will give them advantage over even most of the Japanese premium motorcycles, which are still sold in India as CBUs.
The new partnership plans to open eight dealerships in India by the end of this year and further expand to 20 by end of 2015. The company displayed five motorcycles at the brand-launch event – BN 302, BN 600 GT, BN 600 R, TNT 899 and TNT 1130R and further clarified that these are not the only bikes that will be sold in India.
The Benelli BN 600GT and BN 600 R will be the first inline-4 600cc motorcycles in India, while the more premium products will compete with the Triumph range. We are eagerly waiting for more details on the upcoming launches and promise to get you all the dope soon.
