Benelli has unveiled a brand-new motorcycle. It is called the Tornado 402 and is being positioned as an entry-level premium sports bike. Like most of the Benelli bikes, the Tornado 402 has been designed and developed in China and will be sold in Asia and some European countries.
Benelli Tornado 402: Design
In terms of design, the Italian brand has made sure to give this bike aesthetics that will turn heads. The brand has given it a lot of aggressive design elements, starting from the fascia, and it goes all the way to the rear section. The headlamp styling is inspired by the BMW S1000RR, and the wheels look highly premium. The styling of the motorcycle could make it a big success.
Benelli Tornado 402: Engine, Performance, and Cycle Parts
The Tornado 402 is powered by a new 400cc parallel-twin engine that makes 48bhp at 10,000rpm, making it the most powerful 400cc engine the brand has ever built. Sadly, the torque figures aren't out yet, but we expect it to churn out some decent low-end grunt. The gearbox is six-speed, but there's no slipper clutch available on the bike.
In terms of cycle parts, this bike has fancy ones, such as a single-sided swingarm with a lower beam. The wheels are aluminium in nature and get cool styling. Then, the bike rides on USD forks at the front and monoshock at the rear. The brakes, meanwhile, are from Nissin — dual 300mm discs up front and a single 250mm disc at the back.
Benelli Tornado 402: Features
Benelli loves to equip its bikes with many features, which is true for the Tornado 402. The main highlight is a dash camera placed below the windshield. This dash camera can be accessed via a phone application which needs to be connected to the instrument cluster. This cluster gets complete colour treatment and is loaded with ride data. The bike comes with multiple riding modes and TPMS as standard. There's also a USB port to take care of phone charging needs.
Benelli Tornado 402: India Launch
The Benelli Tornado 402 makes complete sense for a market like India, but the bike could only succeed if it is priced right. There are no details on this bike's official launch, but we can expect to hear something official in a few months.
