- Will replace the existing TRK 502 range
- First lot arrived at dealerships in China
- Likely to use the same twin-cylinder engine with different dimensions
Benelli is set to replace its 502cc ADV bike line with a slightly larger, 552cc range. The bikemaker recently unveiled the TRK 552 and the TRK 552X in China at local dealerships. That said, the new models have received a large engine, new hardware, and probably new features too. Here is what we know about it.
The new Benelli TRK 552 and TRK 552X feature the same design as that of the 502. So, the bikes come with split LED headlights, front beak and transparent visor, handle guards with an aluminum brace, split seats, and an upswept exhaust. The new Benelli TRK 552 range also gets multiple colour schemes.
While the details of the new TRK 552 range are scarce, we know that it gets full LED illumination, fully digital console, ABS, and likely smartphone connectivity too. The current Benelli TRK 502 gets a 500cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 46.8bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. But the new TRK 552 series uses a 549cc, twin-cylinder motor. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Even the hardware on the new Benelli bikes have been altered as the duo gets adjustable front forks and a monoshock. The braking hardware comprises dual front and a single rear disc with J. Juan callipers and the setup is linked to spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres.
Currently, the Benelli TRK 502 and TRK 502X retail at Rs. 5.85 lakh and Rs. 6.50 lakh (both, ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. So, you can expect the TRK 552 range to cost more.
