- New TRK 902 Xplorer unveiled
- Gets a new 904cc engine
- Most rugged Benelli ever
Benelli has pulled the wraps off a new adventure bike – the TRK 902 Xplorer. The TRK 902 Xplorer is the most rugged-looking motorcycle Benelli has ever created.
The TRK 902 Xplorer has been developed to take on some of the biggest rivals, such as the KTM 890 Adventure, Husqvarna Norden 901, BMW F900GS, and Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE. While this Benelli is manufactured in China, the company claims that it has been fully designed and developed in Italy.
Built around a steel trellis frame, the TRK 902 looks like a proper adventure motorcycle. But the lack of a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear set-up makes us question its off-road pedigree. The bike is rather seen with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.
The engine that powers this Benelli is a 904cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor. This engine makes around 99bhp and is based on the 754cc engine. But to increase the displacement and generate more performance, the bore and the stroke have been increased. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox, but there’s no information available if the bike gets quick-shifter.
In terms of features, the TRK 902 Xplore gets fully adjustable 50mm USD forks upfront and a mono-shock with adjustable rebound and spring preload. With 200mm of suspension travel at both ends, this motorcycle looks off-road ready. The tyres used on this are the proven Pirelli Scorpion rally tyres. There’s also the TFT dash with Bluetooth and navigation connectivity.
The global launch of the 902 Xplore is likely to take place sometime next year but sadly the bike won't make its way to India anytime soon.
