- Benelli 502C cruiser to be unveiled tomorrow
- Shares its engine with the Leoncino 500 and TRK 502 siblings
- Will go up against the Kawasaki Vulcan S
Benelli is all set to introduce its first cruiser offering, the 502C, in India tomorrow, 8 July 2021. The company has sent out a notification about the unveiling along with a teaser video that clearly reveals the motorcycle. The 502C will compete against the Kawasaki Vulcan S in the mid-size cruiser genre.
The main highlight of the 502C is its power cruiser design which looks closely inspired by the Ducati Diavel 1260. It sports a low slung headlamp housing a distinctive-looking LED DRL that is flanked by minuscule LED turn indicators. Sitting behind the wide handlebar is a sculpted fuel tank that not only looks big but also has an impressive capacity of 21.5-litre. At the back, the stubby tail integrates dual LED tail lamps tucked under the pillion seat, similar to the bigger 1260cc Ducati cruiser.
Holding on to its trellis frame is the same 500cc parallel-twin engine that does duty on the Leoncino 500 and TRK 502 siblings. It churns out 46.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 46Nm at 6,000rpm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Typical of a cruiser, the 502C also offer a comfortable, laid-back riding position with an extremely accessible 750mm seat height. The ground clearance is also fairly high at 170mm which should make riding it on Indian roads an easy affair.
Expect Benelli to price the 502C cruiser similar to the Leoncino 500 which costs Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
