- QJMotor, Benelli’s sister brand, unveils its first electric bike in China
- Likely to be sold in other markets after its official China debut
Benelli’s China-based sister company, QJMotor, had an extensive line-up of new products to flaunt at this year’s Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. While we have already told you about all the new ICE-powered offerings by QJMotor, what you see in these pictures is its first-ever electric motorcycle, the QJ7000D, showcased at the biennially-held event.
In terms of styling, it is unmistakably a QJ offering with the front end and fairing design being closely similar to the QJ SRG600 petrol-powered sportsbike. It gets a dual headlamp setup housed within silver and blue fairing that boasts clean design lines. The fairing blends with a fuel tank-like panel that’s actually a smartly integrated storage space specifically meant for a helmet. Completing its sporty aesthetics are a high-set, floating tail section with a split-type seat.
QJMotor has equipped the 7000D with a mid-mounted motor that receives energy from a 72V, 60Ah battery pack. While the top speed is rated at an impressive 105kmph, the battery range is claimed to be 100km. So QJMotor’s first electric bike not only looks attractive but it’s also practical. Even the hardware package looks decent with upside down forks, a monoshock, alloy wheels and a disc at both ends.
At present, there’s no information about the official launch of this motorcycle in China. But it’s quite certain that after its China debut, the QJ7000D will be altered a bit to be sold in other markets as a Benelli product.
